Year 6 - trip to Epping-Ongar Railway
In Spring our curricular focus is on WWII and how children experienced this period of history through the eyes of Anne Frank and the evacuation of children from London through the book ‘Goodnight Mr Tom’.
In order to enrich this we are going to embark on the Ongar to Epping steam railway dressed as evacuees. The children can dress up in 1940’s clothing (more about this nearer the time). They will experience the thrill of riding on a steam train, and being ‘evacuated’ as well as taking part in activities related to WWII.
The visit will be on Wednesday 13th February 2019 leaving school at 9.30am and returning for the end of the school day.
The cost of the trip will be £15 per pupil. Payments should be made using School Gateway by
Friday 1st February 2018.
