Eco Schools
At Hare Street Primary, we have recently started an Eco initiative and we are a member of Eco Schools. We are encouraging all children to think about the environment and how to take care of it.
Eco-Schools is an international programme that helps schools embed environmental awareness and sustainable practices into everyday school life. Through Eco-Schools, children learn how their actions can make a positive difference to the environment, both locally and globally.
At our school, Eco-Schools encourages pupils to take an active role in improving sustainability by exploring themes such as recycling, energy use, biodiversity, and reducing waste. Pupils work together to develop ideas, lead initiatives, and promote environmentally responsible choices across the school community.
By taking part in Eco-Schools, children build valuable life skills including teamwork, leadership, and responsibility, while developing a strong understanding of how to care for our planet.
Each of our KS2 classes has an Eco Warrior member and we meet weekly and termly to work on environmental projects and help encourage children to care for our world and the surrounding environment.
